The Pokémon Trading Card Game has officially announced Nihil Zero, an upcoming Japanese expansion set scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. This set kicks off the 2026 Pokémon TCG release calendar and introduces new Mega Evolution Pokémon to the game.
The headline card of the set is Mega Zygarde ex, a Fighting-type Mega Evolution Pokémon with 310 HP. As a Mega Pokémon ex, it follows the standard Mega rule, meaning opponents take three Prize cards when it is Knocked Out. Mega Zygarde ex is expected to play a major role in upcoming competitive strategies due to its high durability and strong attacks.
In addition to Mega Zygarde ex, the Nihil Zero set will include several notable cards:
Meowth ex, a Basic Pokémon ex with an Ability that supports Supporter card search
New Trainer cards such as Lumiose City Stadium
New Special Energy cards, including Rock Fighting Energy
Additional Pokémon revealed so far include Binacle and Barbaracle
Nihil Zero is expected to feature approximately 80 cards before secret rares, making it a smaller, focused expansion. While official English release details have not yet been confirmed, cards from this set are expected to be incorporated into a future English Mega Evolution–themed release later in 2026.
More Pokémon TCG Nihil Zero spoilers and product information are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
